Summary: The book Evolving Issues in Public Administration and Governance explores the trajectory of public administration and governance in pre-and post-independence Zimbabwe. It employs interdisciplinary and paradigmatic approaches to interrogate the interactive influence of logical and global dynamics on national administration and governance systems over the decades. Each decade is treated as a juncture with its own paraphernalia of structural and situational opportunities and challenges that can potentially facilitate or constrain best practices in public administration and governance. The study comes at time when there has been a global swing away frim 'traditional' mainstream public administration theory towards new public management to new public governance systems. Against this backdrop, questions of how far public administration and governance systems in Zimbabwe have been realigned and reconfigured in line with these global changes are cardinal concerns of the the ten chapters of the book. The book is thus a contribution to the ongoing-protracted searches for feasible models of public administration and governance that can engineer sustainable socio-economic development in African countries. The book should enjoy wide readership among scholars, academics, university students and practitioners. especially those in the specialized areas of public administration and management, public policy, local government, public finance, and development studies.
