Abstract: A series of 2-oxazolines were synthesized using a simple, one-pot method under inert, moisture-free conditions from the benzoylacetonitrile and β-aminoalcohols mediated by 115–172 mol% ZnCl2. Structures of products were fully characterized by NMR, IR and MS.
