Online resources: Summary: This research examines transformative learning in intraorganization cross-profession partnerships. Partnerships can enhance individual and organizational success through more effective problem solving and improved adaptation to change. Working in partnership is difficult and often requires learning for successful collaboration; learning may result in transformation. Therefore, it is important to understand how successful partnerships transform individuals, partnerships, and organizations. This study reveals common elements for partnership success, types of learning in partnerships, and conditions for transformative learning in these partnerships. The results of this study identify specific conditions that promote transformative learning in intraorganization cross-profession partnerships. These include (a) a learning environment with strong partner facilitation of learning, critical reflection, and critical events; (b) personal difference between partners bridged by common purpose; and (c) independence with interdependence from the intersection of professional isolation, local need, a transformative partnership mission, and work team leadership.
