Summary, etc. A simple, green and cost-effective protocol was achieved for the synthesis of tri/tetrasubstituted-1H-imidazoles and 2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-ones using nano aluminium nitride. The reaction was carried out under catalyst-free conditions and the products were isolated in good to excellent yield.
