Summary, etc. Sustainability or more precisely sustainable development is the term which has been defined by the World Commission on Environment and Development (WECD) as a way or style of development of fulfilling today’s requirements without compromising tomorrow’s fulfilment of requirements. Sustainability nowadays is very crucial whether it is about development in infrastructure or environment related or about sustainability of a business processes in a corporate. This article represents a critical review on the various legal rules and regulations available in India to address the problem of environmental protection with special reference to electronic waste (e-waste). The article also focuses on the pros, cons and unattended issues available in the real-time environment due to comparatively feeble e-waste legislation in the available regulatory framework. The basic objective of this article is to explore and assess the amount and type of change in the overall sustainable development in the post-implementation era of the e-waste legislation.
