520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc As China's trading relationship with Africa has exploded in magnitude, so also has the international scrutiny apportioned to this changing relationship and its impact. Much of this may be described as the innocent voyeurism of latter-day China watchers, but a great deal of it, especially the inquisitiveness displayed by some Western sources, must be understood as Western disquiet regarding the expanding profile of China in Africa which threatens to undermine and overthrow the hegemony that West has hitherto held in African economies and foreign trade.
